Why Education and Workforce Readiness Guided Our 2025 Giving

In 2025, Cane Bay Partners, together with our philanthropic arm Cane Bay Cares, invested more than $200,000 to support over 70 organizations and community initiatives across the U.S. Virgin Islands.

These investments were intentional.

We believe that strong communities and strong workforces are built over time. And that belief is what guides how we give and where we invest, with a long-term focus on education and workforce readiness across the territory.

We know that a strong workforce doesn’t happen by chance. It grows when learning is connected to real skills and real opportunity.

One of the clearest expressions of this approach is Operation Inspire, Cane Bay Cares’ flagship education initiative spanning afterschool and summer programming.

More than 500 students on St. Croix participated in OI’s hands-on, project-based learning experiences throughout 2025. The activities emphasized problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking – the kinds of skills students need to succeed in today’s classrooms and tomorrow’s careers.

Operation Inspire is primarily managed and funded by Cane Bay Cares, but its reach would not be possible without the support of our community partners and sponsors. Their involvement strengthens the program and helps expand its impact each year. We are grateful for their continued collaboration and shared commitment to student success.

Our 2025 giving also extended beyond education initiatives. Support for crime prevention and community development programs reflected another essential part of workforce readiness: safe, stable communities where families and young people can thrive.

Looking ahead, we’re proud of what 2025 made possible and grateful for the work ahead in 2026.

Thank you to the organizations, partners, and community members who continue to help turn long-term investment into meaningful impact.

Cane Bay Cares is a service initiative of St. Croix-based Cane Bay Partners VI, LLLP. Cane Bay Cares was established after three strong hurricanes, including two Category 5 storms, Irma and Maria, caused much damage to St. Croix during September 2017. The initiative has a goal of providing relief to the citizens of St. Croix. To make this possible, we have partnered with St. Croix Foundation, which is a 501c3 nonprofit that was established in 1990. All donations to Cane Bay Cares are donations to St. Croix Foundation and are 100% tax deductible.

Cane Bay Partners VI, LLLP was formed in June 2009 and founded by internationally experienced business executives with many years of experience in the financial services industry. Focusing our efforts primarily in the financial services industry, our management consulting practice specializes in providing services to clients in need of sophisticated risk management models, debt collections organizations which require liquidation models and analytics, and portfolio management companies desiring a variety of services.

Since 1990, St. Croix Foundation for Community Development has been advancing holistic community development as a pathway to economic prosperity, self-sufficiency, and sustainability. Established in the wake of Hurricane Hugo, today the Foundation is one of the premier place-based philanthropic leaders in the Virgin Islands. Having served as the conduit of over $37 million private and public sector dollars invested into the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Foundation’s impact has netted national recognition in almost every priority area – from economic development and community revitalization to public health, education reform, and nonprofit development. Our mission is to encourage greater philanthropic activity, to marshal resources, and to act as a catalyst to benefit the people of the Virgin Islands.
