Sending Mosquito Superbands to Help Prevent Super-Mosquitos Bites on St. Croix
After the storm comes the mosquitoes. As if 150 mile per hour winds and historic flooding weren’t enough, standing water breeds an overwhelming number of mosquitoes who then prey on the already weary residents of St. Croix.
To help combat this, we’ve ordered 4,000 Mosquito Superbands through Evergreen Research, which donated an additional 480 bands. We’re trying to raise additional funds in order to keep a consistent supply flowing into St. Croix to protect residents, particularly those most vulnerable, like school aged children.
These awesome little bands repel mosquitoes for up to 250 hours.
We’re asking our community to donate $140 to purchase 400 superbands. Enough of these donations can help us supplying young children with these bands to keep the mosquitoes at bay.

Cane Bay Cares is a service initiative of St. Croix-based Cane Bay Partners VI, LLLP. Cane Bay Cares was established after three strong hurricanes, including two Category 5 storms, Irma and Maria, caused much damage to St. Croix during September 2017. The initiative has a goal of providing relief to the citizens of St. Croix. To make this possible, we have partnered with St. Croix Foundation, which is a 501c3 nonprofit that was established in 1990. All donations to Cane Bay Cares are donations to St. Croix Foundation and are 100% tax deductible.
